Shijiazhuang Chiyuen Food Technology Co., Ltd. was registered in 2015 and makes glycine and glycine salts. Its plant is on the west side of the West Ring Road in the economic development zone of Luancheng District, Shijiazhuang, Hebei Province, and began operating in November 2018. The company is the successor plant to Shijiazhuang Donghuajian Amino Acid Co., Ltd.

Rated capacity is 12,000 tonnes a year of food-grade glycine. Alongside glycine itself the company makes sodium glycinate, mono-sodium glycine carbonate and di-sodium glycine carbonate, supplied in food, feed and technical grades. Glycine is used in food as a flavour modifier and buffering agent, in beverages and seasonings, and as a raw material in fermentation and pharmaceutical synthesis, while the carbonate salts are used chiefly in industrial gas treating.

The company holds Chinese production licences for food additives and for feed additives, and is certified to ISO 9001:2015, FSSC 22000, FAMI-QS for feed materials, halal and kosher. It has completed REACH pre-registration for the European market.
