Zhaoqing Haixing Biotechnology makes hydrocolloids, with carrageenan as the core line and agar and konjac gum alongside it. Carrageenan grades include cold-soluble types. The company also blends the gums into finished systems, jelly and pudding powders, gummy powders, and tumbling and injection blends for ham and other cooked meats.

It was among the earlier Chinese firms to work on carrageenan, and the Haixing brand was taken up as a national Spark Programme project in 1992. The plant occupies 30,000 square metres at the Ma'an Tianzi industrial park in Zhaoqing, Guangdong, with the sales office in Panyu, Guangzhou. Seaweed raw material comes from the Philippines and Indonesia. The company holds ISO 9001 certification and belongs to the International Halal Integrity Alliance.
