Aipu Food Industry was founded in 1993 and manufactures food additives and seasoning ingredients. Its range covers caramel colour, ethyl maltol, disodium succinate, hydrolysed vegetable protein in compound powder and liquid form, and soy sauce powder. The company states that its caramel colour, hydrolysed vegetable protein compounds and soy sauce powder are non-GMO.
Aipu has taken a direct part in Chinese food additive standard-setting. It led drafting of GB 29939-2013, the national food safety standard for disodium succinate, and worked on the amendment that became GB 1886.64-2015 for caramel colour. That standards role is unusual for a company of its size and is the clearest marker of its technical position in these two categories.
Production is certified to FSSC 22000, ISO 22000 and HACCP. Quality control is organised as a plant-wide network with documented equipment cleaning and cleanliness verification inspected by the quality control and assurance department, and pest control inside the plant area contracted to specialist firms.
The company sells into more than 80 countries and regions and holds long-running supply relationships with several multinational food groups. Southeast Asia and Latin America are the markets it identifies as strongest. Its offices are at No. 36 East Qibei Road in Shanghai.
