Angel Enzyme (Yichang) Co., Ltd.

Angel Enzyme (Yichang) Co., Ltd. (安琪酶制剂（宜昌）有限公司) is a wholly owned subsidiary of Angel Yeast Co., Ltd., the Yichang-based fermentation group listed in Shanghai under the code 600298. It was set up as a separate company in 2021, when Angel Yeast moved its specialty enzyme business into a standalone entity.

The enzyme work behind it is older. Angel Yeast began developing enzyme preparations in 2006 and set up an enzyme engineering technology centre in 2008. A specialty enzyme business division followed in August 2012, and a production line with an annual capacity of 5,000 tonnes was commissioned at the Yichang biotechnology industrial park in Hubei Province.

The company makes enzyme preparations under the ANNZYMES brand, with roughly 25 catalogued products. Its range covers proteases, lactase, glutaminase, nucleases and deaminases, sold into baking, brewing and distilling, dairy processing, seasoning production and animal feed. Enzymes are produced by microbial fermentation, drawing on the parent group's yeast and fermentation infrastructure at the same site.
