Anhui Jinhe Industrial Co., Ltd.

Anhui Jinhe Industrial traces back to the Lai'an County fertiliser plant, built in 1974 to make 3,000 tonnes of synthetic ammonia a year with a workforce of 300. Successive expansions raised ammonia and urea output, and in the 1990s a 100-tonne aroma chemical line broke the plant's dependence on fertiliser and started its move into fine chemicals. The present company was formed by Wandong Jinrui Chemical, the forerunner of Anhui Jinrui Investment Group, together with two other founders, and it remains part of Jinrui Investment Group.

Jinhe is now one of the largest producers of high-intensity sweeteners and food aroma chemicals in the world. Its core products are acesulfame potassium, sucralose, maltol, ethyl maltol and methyl cyclopentenolone, and it added allulose later. Sucralose production began in 2017; a 5,000-tonne sucralose project costing 1.05 billion yuan was completed at the end of 2020, taking total sucralose capacity to 8,000 tonnes a year. Subsidiary Chuzhou Jinwo Biotechnology commissioned a 5,000-tonne methyl and ethyl maltol project in late 2021. The group also makes wet electronic chemicals and lithium battery electrolyte precursors.

The company listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange SME board on 7 July 2011 under code 002597, entered the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Stock Connect in 2017 and the SZSE Component Index in 2018. It holds more than 300 core patents, over 200 of them invention patents, and was named a national manufacturing single-champion enterprise, a national green factory and a Ministry of Industry and Information Technology smart manufacturing demonstration case. Customers include Coca-Cola and PepsiCo.
