Biocatsyn (Jiangsu) Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

BioCatSyn (Jiangsu) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. is the manufacturing arm of BioCatSyn (百开盛), a group founded in 2022 by Wei Dongzhi, a professor who earlier set up the Luhua Biotechnology Institute at East China University of Science and Technology. Group headquarters and a 2,000 square metre research and pilot facility are in Nanqiao Science City in the Fengxian district of Shanghai. The Jiangsu plant is at Lianyungang, on a 90 mu site of about 60,000 square metres, with roughly 50,000 square metres of production buildings covering fermentation, downstream processing, purification and a GMP area.

The company builds products on three technical platforms: enzymes and biocatalysis, cell factories and biosynthesis, and bioprocess integration. Materials are made by enzymatic conversion or microbial fermentation rather than by extraction.

Its ingredient range includes squalene, sold under the OmniPure name, ergothioneine, phosphatidylserine, beta-carotene, lycopene, ectoine, Pro-Xylane, the sesquiterpenes nootkatone and valencene, and steviol glycosides including rebaudioside M and rebaudioside D. These are supplied into food, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and animal health markets. The founding team reports 86 granted invention patents, including filings in the United States, Europe and Japan. Shanghai authorities certified the company as a specialised and innovative enterprise in 2025.
