Guilin Hongxing Chemical Co., Ltd.

Guilin Hongxing Chemical Co., Ltd. traces to the Guilin Hongxing Chemical Plant, founded in 1958. The works was reorganised as the Guilin Hongxing General Chemical Plant in 1996, and from 1997 several joint-stock companies were spun out of it; the present limited company was created in that restructuring and took its current form in 2000. It is based at 28 Jiashan Road South Lane in Guilin, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region.

Baking powder is the main line, and the company states that it originated and later refined the Chinese product standard for it. Its catalogue covers aluminium-free double-acting baking powder, leavening agents for deep-fried dough sticks and sesame balls, steamed bun and bread improvers and cake baking powder, sold under the Jianshi brand. Other output includes caramel colour, dried potassium aluminium sulphate, repackaged sodium bicarbonate and sodium carbonate, calcium carbonate, calcium hydroxide and calcium oxide.

In 2019 the company employed close to 300 people, of whom 35 were technical staff. It reports annual baking powder output above 30,000 tonnes and total output value near 200 million yuan. It is a member of the China Food Additives and Ingredients Association and exhibits at the spring FIC trade fair.
