Shandong Sanxu Food Technology makes preservatives for food and for feed. The range covers calcium propionate and sodium propionate, calcium acetate monohydrate, sodium acetate and sodium acetate trihydrate, sodium diacetate, sodium benzoate and sodium butyrate. Bakers use the propionates against mould, meat and brewed condiment producers use the acetates and diacetate, and sodium butyrate goes into animal feed for gut health rather than as a preservative.

The company works from Zaozhuang in Shandong, the same southern chemical district that holds several other Chinese acetate and propionate producers. It built the range out over time, adding products to a preservative line rather than starting with the full set.
