Shandong Sanyuan Biotechnology Co., Ltd.

Shandong Sanyuan Biotechnology was founded in 2007 and makes fermented erythritol at an industrial park in Binzhou, Shandong. Erythritol research began at the outset. A new plant at the first factory was completed in 2019, and by 2020 annual erythritol capacity had reached 85,000 tonnes, which the company states was then the largest in the world. It listed on the ChiNext board of the Shenzhen Stock Exchange on 10 February 2022 under code 301206.

That year also brought mass production of allulose and the commissioning of a second erythritol plant. A third plant was completed in 2023, at which point the company began preparing a high-purity stevia product for market. The current range covers erythritol, allulose, Reb M and compounded sweetener blends, in bulk and in small packs.

Sanyuan holds 31 national invention patents and three utility models, and its products have been rated key national new products by the science and technology, environment, commerce and quality inspection authorities. Certification covers ISO9001, ISO14001, ISO22000, BRC, kosher and halal. The company holds its own import and export rights, sells mainly into Europe and the United States, and distributes in more than 40 countries and regions across East and Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand, into food, beverages, supplements, medicine and cosmetics.
