Shandong Tianli Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.

Shandong Tianli Pharmaceutical is a corn deep-processing and biochemical producer at the science and technology industrial park in the Shouguang development zone in Shandong. It is one of the six manufacturing subsidiaries of Shandong Union Chemical Group, which was founded in 1997.

The company runs a complete chain from corn starch through glucose to sugar alcohols and vitamin C, which it says makes it the first Chinese producer to hold the whole sequence in one operation. Core products are glucose, sorbitol, mannitol, trehalose and vitamin C, together with their derivatives, supplied in pharmaceutical and food additive grades. Within the group, stated annual capacity for these lines is 700,000 tonnes of sorbitol, 110,000 tonnes of trehalose, 50,000 tonnes of vitamin C and downstream products and 20,000 tonnes of mannitol, which the group describes as making it the largest sugar alcohol producer in Asia.

Business reaches more than 20 countries and regions. The group holds quality, environmental, occupational health and safety, energy and food safety management system certification, and its Shouguang operations have been recognised as a national green factory. Sales of the Tianli range are handled through a chemical sales company based in Nanjing.
