Skuny BioScience researches and manufactures fatty acids, extracting and restructuring omega-3, 6, 7 and 9 fractions along with phosphatidylcholine, phosphatidylserine, OPO and OPL from fish oil, algal oil, flaxseed, sunflower, palm, peanut, walnut and olive oils. The algal oil listed here is sold under the ALGALFULLIFE brand; a fish oil concentrate is sold as MEGAFULLIFE 98nTG. Proprietary process platforms are named MSET, SOB/SET and BtBLife, and the stated aim is improved stability and bioavailability of the finished fatty acids.

The head office and factory are at No. 81 Industry Park, Pujiang County, Chengdu, Sichuan. Company milestones list the founding and construction of the Pujiang plant, commissioning of the 101 workshop, European NAQ and ISO 9001 certification, the ALALIFE international trademark, inclusion of SDG products in a national key new product plan, a Chengdu science and technology progress award, commissioning of the first phase of the 104 intermediates and API expansion, US FDA approval of the 104-46 pharmaceutical raw material, and designation as a specialised and new small enterprise in Sichuan Province.

The research team is given as six doctorate holders, five with master's degrees, two holding both, three tenured university professors, more than 20 chemists and a number of botanists.
