Thermphos

The thermPhos business in China trades as Tianfu and is run through two registered companies: Tianfu (China) Food Additives Co., Ltd., the head office at Building 17, 5 Longtan Ring Road, Jinshanqiao Economic Development Zone, Xuzhou, Jiangsu, and Tianfu (Jiangsu) Technology Co., Ltd., the plant on Lianyungang Avenue in the port industrial zone of Ganyu district, Lianyungang, also in Jiangsu and close to the port. The business was formerly an important phosphate plant within the Netherlands-headquartered Thermphos International BV group and now holds the thermPhos brand worldwide. It reports more than forty years of experience with these products in China and carries the national specialised and sophisticated "little giant" designation.

Output covers fine phosphates in several classes: food-grade single phosphate salts, including the sodium, potassium and calcium phosphates listed here, phosphates for electronics and electroplating, and compound phosphates for food processing. The company describes its particular strength as high-purity grades and salts with specific chemical composition or physical behaviour made for a defined use.

In recent years it has built a position in mineral nutritional fortifiers, supplying high-assay, low-impurity calcium, iron, magnesium, zinc and copper compounds, which covers the ferric pyrophosphate, sodium feredetate, ferrous fumarate, ferrous sulphate and magnesium oxide listed here. Using its work on aluminium-free acidulants such as sodium acid pyrophosphate and monocalcium phosphate, it has moved into bakery with aluminium-free compound leavening agents and is extending into food quality improvers. It has also begun work in pharmaceutical and electronic chemicals. Sales are handled by application teams across China, with agents or offices in Europe, Argentina and most of Asia.
