VDK NaturaSyn Co., Ltd. produces food, dietary supplement and pharmaceutical ingredients by fermentation rather than plant extraction, using engineered microbial cell factories under what the company calls its NaturaSyn platform. The stated aim is to remove the yield, purity and cost constraints that come with extracting the same molecules from plant material.

The flagship product is 5-hydroxytryptophan, sold under the HTPeace mark. More recent additions are melatonin, marketed as MelatoPure, resveratrol including a water-soluble grade, beta carotene and astaxanthin. The company operates a campus of 100,000 square metres at 3 Houhe Road in the Emerging Industry Park at Mancheng, Baoding, Hebei, built on an investment given as RMB 500 million.

Sales are domestic and export. The company has exhibited at Food Ingredients China, Vitafoods Asia and FI South America.
