Yantai Zhaoyi Biochnology Co., Ltd. was founded in October 2017 with registered capital of RMB 10 million, to develop and produce pharmaceutical and nutritional ingredients. It is based west of Shenzhen Road at Yantai, Shandong province.

The core range is chelated mineral salts and specific nutrients: magnesium glycinate, magnesium citrate, magnesium and calcium L-threonate, calcium glycinate, magnesium taurate, magnesium glycerophosphate, chromium picolinate and theacrine, alongside trehalose, allulose and ursodeoxycholic acid. Products are sold into supplements, gummies, functional drinks and food fortification, and the company also supplies acidity regulators, pharmaceutical excipients and intermediates, and plant extracts.

A biopharmaceutical and nutritional supplement project with investment of RMB 200 million was approved in April 2023, covering 69,922 square metres with fermentation, purification and formulation facilities. Phase I construction began in August 2023 across 28,014 square metres, comprising plants 1 to 6 and a wastewater treatment plant. Trial production of the core products was reached at the end of 2024, with stated annual capacities of 1,200 tonnes of trehalose, 600 tonnes of allulose and 100 tonnes of ursodeoxycholic acid, and more than 90 production units installed including fermenters, crystallisation systems and purification lines. The company holds 21 patents, has FDA registration for its ursodeoxycholic acid, and is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 22000, FSSC 22000, GMP, Kosher and Halal.
