Angel Newt Co., Ltd.

Angel Newt, registered as Angel Nutritech Co., Ltd. and in Chinese as 安琪纽特股份有限公司, makes yeast-derived nutrition ingredients. It was incorporated in April 2020 out of the nutrition and health division of Angel Yeast Co., Ltd., and is headquartered at the Angel bio-industrial park in Yichang, Hubei Province. The Angel Newt brand itself dates from 1991, when the parent company began applying yeast to human nutrition.

Angel Yeast was founded in 1986 and listed on the Shanghai Stock Exchange in 2000. It operates a national enterprise technology centre, a postdoctoral research station, a nationally accredited laboratory and the Hubei provincial yeast engineering centre, and runs production bases in China, Egypt and Russia.

The ingredient range covers yeast extract, yeast protein, yeast peptides, yeast beta-glucan, nutritional yeast flakes, selenium, zinc and chromium enriched yeasts, Saccharomyces boulardii and yeasts for winemaking and brewing. Yeast beta-glucan is approved in China as a novel food ingredient and nutrient fortifier, including for infant formula. A digital plant for cell-source yeast nutrition products opened in 2020 and was designated a key intelligent manufacturing project by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.
