Chengzhi Life Science Co., Ltd.

Chengzhi Life Science is the healthcare and life science arm of Chengzhi Shareholding Co., Ltd., a listed high-technology group founded in October 1998 and quoted under stock code 000990. Chengzhi grew out of Tsinghua University and remains the main platform for commercialising the university's research; in December 2021 it completed the reform of school-run enterprises, bringing in Qingdao West Coast New Area Ocean Holdings as a shareholder and passing actual control to the Qingdao West Coast New Area state assets administration.

The group is built around clean energy, semiconductor display materials, and healthcare and life science, and has more than thirty subsidiaries in China and abroad. Chengzhi entered the biopharmaceutical field in 2001 and is the oldest of the Tsinghua businesses working in medicine and health. It holds Chinese and foreign invention patents in the manufacture and application of D-ribose and describes itself as owning complete intellectual property in that product; its fermentation and purification work also covers D-mannose and S-adenosyl-L-methionine disulfate tosylate. In March 2019 it moved into industrial hemp biopharmaceuticals to broaden the segment.

The listed company is registered at the ninth floor of Huajiang Building, TusPark (Jiangxi), in the Nanchang Economic and Technological Development Zone, with its management headquarters on the sixteenth floor of Tower B, Innovation Building, TusPark, Haidian District, Beijing. Manufacturing sits with its operating subsidiaries. The group's industrial footprint is centred on the Bohai Rim, the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and the Yangtze River economic belt.
