Hisoya Biotechnology (Guangdong) Co., Ltd. is the wholly owned subsidiary of Guangzhou Hisoya Biological Science and Technology Co., Ltd., founded in 2008 with registered capital of RMB 48 million. The business traces back to the fine chemical plant of the South China University of Technology, established in 1985, and the university remains a research partner. The Guangdong plant is at No. 8 Chuangye Road, GuangFo Industrial Park, Tangtang Town, Fogang County, Qingyuan.

The company processes soybeans into lecithin. Grades cover food, feed and chemical use and include soya lecithin powder, modified liquid lecithin, transparent lecithin and deoiled lecithin, alongside isolated soy protein. Main processing equipment is imported, including plant from Buss-SMS of Germany, vacuum equipment from Siemens Nash-Elmo, and Achenbach machinery.

Hisoya is one of the principal drafters of the Chinese national food safety standards GB 28401-2012 for phospholipids and GB 1886.238-2016 for modified soybean phospholipids, and took part in drafting GB 30607-2014 for enzymatically hydrolysed soybean phospholipids. It holds FSSC 22000, ISO 9001 and non-GMO identity preserved certification. More than 70 percent of staff are technical. Recognitions include a place among the Top 500 Modern Industry Projects of Guangdong Province in 2010, Guangzhou Science and Technology Little Giant status in 2015 and Guangzhou Enterprise R&D Institution status in 2016. A current project carries RMB 120 million of investment on a 30 mu site with about 35,000 square metres of buildings.
