Transparent Lecithin
Transparent Lecithin is a clarified form of phospholipid emulsifier engineered for clear beverage and confection applications where visual haze is unacceptable. It carries the European food additive number E322 and is most commonly produced from soybean or sunflower fluid lecithin.
The material is a pale, water-clear to light amber fluid that delivers full emulsifying performance without contributing turbidity to finished products. The clarified profile is achieved through additional refining of the parent fluid lecithin.
We source bulk Transparent Lecithin from top China manufacturers for our partners, working with several of them. The manufacturers are mostly in Anhui, Beijing and Hebei. A smaller requirement can ship in a combined container with other ingredients.
Please send the grade you need, the volume and your destination port, and we will come back with a solution and a price.

Common Markets Grades
Transparent Lecithin is graded by clarity, colour, and phospholipid composition.
Standard transparent grades reach a Gardner colour of 4 or lower with full transmission through a 1 centimetre cell at 550 nanometres. Premium ultra-clear grades reach Gardner 2 or lower for use in colourless waters and clear spirit infusions.
Hydrolysed transparent grades carry enzymatically cleaved phospholipids that further improve water dispersibility in acidic and high-electrolyte clear beverages.
Transparent grades are produced from soy, sunflower, and rapeseed sources, with sunflower being preferred for allergen-free clear beverage applications.

How We Help Source Transparent Lecithin
Direct Factory Sourcing
We run the whole process: selecting the manufacturer from the top Chinese food ingredient producers, negotiating the price, verifying quality, and coordinating the logistics. You deal with us instead of with several factories at once.
Original Packaging and Documents from the Manufacturer
The manufacturer sends your Transparent Lecithin out of its own factory in the original packing, through to your destination port. The COA, COO, MSDS, TDS and any certifications reach you from the manufacturer as well.
Free Samples and Lead Time
We send 100 to 500 g free for your own laboratory to test and you cover only the courier, usually within 2 to 3 working days. ETD is usually within 7 to 15 days once the order is confirmed, and we check that date against the factory's own manufacturing schedule before we give it to you.
Combined Shipment
We can load Transparent Lecithin together with other ingredients such as Polyglycerol Esters of Fatty Acids, Non-Dairy Creamer and Mono- and Diglycerides of Fatty Acids into one 20' FCL. If your quantity is small, we can also ship LCL.
Regulatory Status
Transparent Lecithin is approved under E322 in the European Union as a standard lecithin variant for general food use at quantum satis.
The United States Food and Drug Administration treats it as Generally Recognized as Safe under 21 CFR 184.1400. JECFA reviewed lecithins as a class and concluded that a numerical intake limit was not required.
The Food Chemicals Codex monograph for lecithin applies, with the same composition tests for acetone-insoluble content and acid value.
Source allergen labelling follows the parent oilseed. Soy-derived material requires a soy declaration in most markets, while sunflower-derived clear lecithin does not. Non-GMO, Kosher, and Halal certifications are routinely available.
Manufacturing Process
Transparent Lecithin is produced by additional refining of standard fluid lecithin.
The starting material is typically a bleached fluid lecithin already clarified to Gardner 7 or lower. The fluid is treated with adsorbent earths under controlled temperature and vacuum to remove residual pigments, carotenoids, and chlorophylls.
The clarified material is filtered through cellulose or polymer membranes to remove fine particulates and any haze-forming agglomerates. Selected lines also apply a deodorisation step under high vacuum and steam injection to remove minor volatile components that can contribute colour over storage time.
Hydrolysed transparent grades undergo enzymatic treatment with phospholipase A2 before the final clarification, which converts a fraction of the phospholipids to lysophospholipids and lifts water dispersibility.
