Hunan Jia Yi Biotechnology Co., Ltd. makes bioactive peptides. Its main production base is at Building 01 in the leather industrial park at Huating Village, Dongjiao Township, Xiangxiang City, Xiangtan, Hunan, and the sales centre is in Xiuzhou District, Jiaxing, Zhejiang.

The group runs three plants with a fourth under construction. The Tongxiang base in Zhejiang, opened in 2006, covers 15,000 square metres and was where the company moved from industrial proteins into bioactive collagen. A 55,000 square metre plant at the Xiajiang County industrial park in Ji'an, Jiangxi, was completed in 2019 for collagen peptides and plant protein peptides. The 25,000 square metre Hunan plant followed in 2021, and a fourth base of 75,000 square metres is being built in Hunan. Annual capacity is stated at 8,000 tonnes and production is largely automated.

Collagen peptides are made from bovine hide and bone and from fish scale by a patented enzymatic hydrolysis and purification process, to a protein content above 90 percent. The range covers bovine collagen peptide, bovine bone collagen peptide, bovine collagen tripeptide, marine collagen peptide and tripeptide, silkworm chrysalis collagen peptide, and soy, pea and rice protein peptides, with made-to-order grades available. Granule forms were introduced in 2023, and by 2024 monthly output of bovine collagen peptide had reached 400 tonnes.

The company set internal standards above national and industry requirements in 2022 and runs a laboratory covering 26 test items, alongside a research lab and an experimental technology centre. Certification covers ISO 9001, HACCP, halal, BRC and United States FDA registration.
