Jiangsu Tianjiang Biotechnology makes food modified starches and starch derivatives. The range covers acetylated distarch adipate, acetylated distarch phosphate, hydroxypropyl distarch phosphate, hydroxypropyl starch, oxidised hydroxypropyl starch and phosphated distarch phosphate, the substituted and cross-linked starches used to control texture, viscosity and freeze-thaw stability in sauces, dairy and convenience foods.

The company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Guangdong Haitian Group and works from a 160,000 square metre site in the economic development zone at Suqian, northern Jiangsu, where it handles development, production and sales of the starch range. It gained ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and FSSC 22000 certification in May 2020.
