Leveking Biotech Co., Ltd.

Leveking was founded in March 2001 and develops and manufactures enzyme preparations and microbial fermentation products. It began as Shenzhen Leveking Biology Engineering Co., Ltd., set up in the Shenzhen high-technology park by a state-recognised scientist together with returned overseas students, and its Shenzhen office is now in the Qiaode science park in Guangming District. Manufacturing is carried out by Anhui Leveking Biotechnology Co., Ltd., which occupies 40,000 square metres of buildings near Jiuhua Mountain in Anhui Province.

The company holds national high-technology enterprise status. Its first commercial line was a lipase series produced under its own process technology, and the range has since broadened across food, beverage, feed, papermaking and leather applications, with particular use in meat products, baking and flour treatment. A second line covers live microbial preparations for aquaculture and animal feed.

Leveking took part in the national 863 programme as the contractor for an industrial lipase sub-project and for enzyme engineering commercialisation work, and has run further national, provincial and municipal research projects. It has filed 88 patents, of which 54 have been granted, and has received five national or provincial innovation awards. Certifications include BRC, ISO standards, halal and kosher.
