Nantong Acetic Acid Chemical Co., Ltd. traces back to the Nantong Acetic Acid Chemical Factory, founded in 1959. It now operates as a joint stock company and is designated a National High-Tech Enterprise and a key enterprise under the national Torch Programme.

Output falls into four families: food and feed additives, pharmaceutical and agrochemical intermediates, pigment and dye intermediates, and basic organic chemicals. In the food additive line the company is known for sorbic acid and potassium sorbate, sodium dehydroacetate and dehydroacetic acid, alongside nicotinic acid and nicotinamide. Its acetic acid derivatives are sold under the Tianzhu brand, which has been named a Jiangsu Province branded product and a Jiangsu well-known trademark.

The company holds a Jiangsu enterprise technology centre and a Jiangsu academician workstation, and has carried out projects under the national Sixth and Eighth Five-Year key research plans as well as Torch and Spark programme projects. It works with Nanjing University and the Hunan Research Institute of Chemical Industry through industry-university-research cooperation and holds a number of patents. Certifications cover ISO 9001, ISO 14001, GB/T 28001 occupational health and safety, and ISO 22000. The company holds its own export licence and sells directly to international customers.
