Shaanxi Huatai Biological Fine Chemical Co., Ltd.

Shaanxi Huatai Bio-fine Chemical produces natural plant extracts for the food and cosmetic trades. Its factory occupies 4,500 square metres in the Fuhai Industrial Park at Yangling in Shaanxi and runs a line built to the requirements of a Chinese SC food production licence. A commercial office sits in Xi'an, at Wanda Plaza in Lijia Village. The company gives no incorporation date but states that its owner has worked in plant extracts since the 1990s.

Licorice derivatives are a core line. The company lists glycyrrhizinate salts, including dipotassium glycyrrhizinate, alongside glabridin, which it will supply at concentrations from one per cent to 98 per cent to a customer brief. Other extracts include phloretin, alpha arbutin, totarol, oat and yeast beta glucan, hyaluronic acid, resveratrol, coenzyme Q10 and Portulaca oleracea extract, together with fruit powders and food additives.

Huatai holds ISO9001 and ISO14001 certification and has its own patents covering glabridin and several compounded products. It reports that Europe accounts for about 47 per cent of sales, Asia for 39 per cent and other markets for the remainder, and it takes contract work to customer specifications.
