Chengdu Okay Pharmaceutical was founded in 2003 in Sichuan and produces flavonoid-rich plant extracts. Its work started with two raw materials the province supplies in quantity, citrus and Sophora japonica, and the current range follows from them: citrus bioflavonoids, naringin, Sophora japonica extract, enzymatically modified isoquercitrin, dihydroquercetin and L-rhamnose monohydrate. Rhamnose is the sugar released when rutin from Sophora is enzymatically converted, so the products sit on a single processing chain rather than being separate lines.

The company has been exporting botanical extracts rooted in Chinese medicine for more than twenty years and describes its approach as combining traditional plant knowledge with modern separation and enzymatic technology. Manufacturing is certified to EU GMP, ISO, FSSC 22000 and HACCP, with Kosher and Halal certification.

Okay listed on the Beijing Stock Exchange in 2021, which the company treats as a step in tightening its management and operational systems as much as a financing event. It has since founded OkayPharm USA to serve the American market directly. Its stated aim is to bring Sichuan plant raw materials to international customers and to keep extending the range as health and wellness requirements change.
