Guangzhou Masson Science and Technology Industry Company Limited develops, produces and sells food additives and food ingredients from an address on Shuiyin Road in the Yuexiu district of Guangzhou. It is a vice-chairman member of the China Food Additives and Ingredients Association and has taken part in drafting a number of national food safety standards.

The product line is built around emulsification. It covers single emulsifiers such as distilled monoglycerides, mono- and diglycerides of fatty acids, polyglycerol esters and sorbitan stearates, together with the organic acid esters of monoglycerides, meaning the lactic, citric, succinylated and diacetyl tartaric types. These are supplemented by compounded bakery and cake emulsifiers, dough and cake quality improvers, food-grade defoamers based on monoglycerides, phospholipids or silicone, mould release agents for biscuits, cakes and confectionery, and specialty fats and shortenings. Materials are supplied in cartons, bags and drums for industrial use.

Products are sold under the VIVID brand. The company states that between 70 and 80 per cent of output is exported, with markets in North and South America, Western and Eastern Europe, East and Southeast Asia, the Middle East and Africa. Certifications listed against its products include HACCP, ISO, FSSC, halal and kosher.
