Kaiyuan Hengtai Nutrition makes nutritional fortificants, with L-carnitine as the main line. That range covers the base, the hydrochloride, the fumarate and the L-tartrate, acetyl L-carnitine hydrochloride, propionyl L-carnitine hydrochloride and a 50 per cent powder. The company also makes ascorbyl palmitate, gamma-aminobutyric acid and phenibut hydrochloride, for food, supplement and feed use.
The business began as a laboratory at Kaiyuan in Liaoning in 2000, became Kaiyuan Hengtai Fine Chemical Works in 2002 and Kaiyuan Hengtai Chemical in 2008, and took its present name in March 2020. It runs a provincial enterprise technology centre and was recognised as a high technology enterprise in July 2019. Certification covers ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, BRC, FAMI-QS, RSPO, Sedex, kosher and halal, and the plant passed a US FDA inspection in September 2014 with no findings.
