Shandong Luhu Biological Technology makes food and feed grade preservative salts in three families: benzoates, covering benzoic acid and sodium benzoate; propionates, covering calcium propionate and sodium propionate; and acetates, covering calcium acetate, calcium acetate monohydrate, sodium acetate, sodium acetate trihydrate and sodium diacetate. It runs one production line for each family, with more than 180 reaction and crystallisation vessels between them.

The company was founded in January 2017 at Mushi town in Tengzhou, Shandong, inside the Lunan high-tech chemical park, on a 40,000 square metre site with 30,000 square metres of building and 108 staff. Annual capacity is 15,000 tonnes of benzoates, 20,000 tonnes of propionates and 15,000 tonnes of acetates. It has its own utilities and analytical laboratory, and holds ISO 9001, ISO 22000, Kosher and Halal certification.
