Shandong Tianjiao Biotech Co., Ltd.

Shandong Tianjiao Biotech was founded in 2004 and makes food ingredients at Chenji Town in the Heze development zone in Shandong. It is registered as a national high-technology enterprise and controls three subsidiaries.

Production capacity is 150,000 tonnes a year across powdered fats, lipid microcapsule powders, plant-based products and solid beverages. Lines include non-dairy creamers, medium and long chain triglyceride powders, phytosterol esters, fish oil, vitamin D3 oil, diglyceride oils made from camellia, corn and flaxseed oil, and milk thistle seed oil. The company says it was the first in China to bring out a zero trans fat non-dairy creamer, in response to the World Health Organization REPLACE programme.

Research is run through a provincial enterprise technology centre and three municipal key laboratories, with further centres in Shanghai, Qingdao, Tianjin and Hohhot; the Shanghai unit is approved as a municipal off-site research centre. Tianjiao holds 84 patents, 24 of them invention patents, and has contributed to national standards on soft ice cream premix, natural food ingredient use, processed food classification and digital food factories, to group standards on powdered fats and MCT edible oil, and to the industry standard for plant sterols and plant sterol esters.

Certification covers FSSC22000, Indonesian MUI halal, kosher, United States FDA registration and advanced AEO customs status. Products sell across all 34 Chinese provincial-level regions and are exported to more than 60 countries and regions. Named customers include Mengniu, Yili, Yihai Kerry, Weiwei, Amway and Perfect.
