Weiri (Shandong) Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was established in June 2014, with its production base in the national high-tech industrial development zone at Yucheng, Dezhou, Shandong province. It is registered as a specialised and innovative enterprise of Shandong province.

The product range is biological preservatives: nisin, natamycin in several carriers, and epsilon-polylysine hydrochloride. The plant was planned from 2014 as a successor to the earlier Lanzhou Weiri operation, and the company states that its hardware and software capacity is more than five times that of the Lanzhou site. Plant layout, production equipment, process and quality control were specified to current international design practice, with the main equipment imported.

In January 2023 Hangzhou Enhe Biotechnology Co., Ltd. signed an equity acquisition agreement with Weiri and became controlling shareholder through share transfer and a capital increase. Enhe installed a management team drawn from established pharmaceutical companies, and the stated priorities since then have been capacity, product quality, a wider product line and export markets. Certification covers ISO 9001, ISO 22000, Halal and Kosher.
