Yongzhou Samshiang Flavours & Fragrances Corporation

Yongzhou Samshiang Flavours and Fragrances Corporation produces, processes and sells natural aroma chemicals from 70 Taoyuan West Road, Fenghuang Industrial Park, Lengshuitan district, Yongzhou, Hunan province.

Its lead products are litsea cubeba oil and a natural citral series derived from it, together with cassia oil, natural benzaldehyde and a cinnamaldehyde series. In recent years the company has added garlic oil, ginger oil, valerian oil, ho leaf oil, perilla oil and citronella oil, giving three product series and more than 20 items in total. It holds four invention patents covering deep processing of litsea cubeba kernels and the extraction of methylheptenone, limonene and citronellal from litsea cubeba fractions, and it took part in drafting the Chinese national quality and production standard for litsea cubeba oil.

The company runs research and pilot-scale laboratories on site, keeps a research team in Shanghai led by a doctorate holder, and uses the group analysis centre with GC-MS, HPLC and ICP-MS instrumentation for raw material characterisation. It maintains research links with more than ten Chinese universities and institutes. Its main products carry EU REACH registration, Kosher certification and US FDA registration. It is a member of the China Association of Fragrance, Flavour and Cosmetic Industries, a designated key enterprise for agricultural and forestry industrialisation in Hunan, a national key enterprise for non-timber forest industrialisation and a recognised high-tech enterprise. Its citral has won gold medals at Hunan science and forestry fairs and the Samshiang litsea cubeba oil line is sold in the United Kingdom, France, the United States, Spain, Mexico and more than ten other countries.
