Zaoyang Cixiang Pharmtech makes cinnamon-series organic chemicals: cinnamic acid and potassium cinnamate, cinnamyl alcohol, cinnamaldehyde and the methyl and ethyl cinnamates, together with a benzaldehyde group covering benzaldehyde itself, benzalacetone, benzoin and ring-substituted derivatives such as ortho-chlorobenzaldehyde and para-methoxycinnamic acid. Halogenated intermediates and 3-phenylpropionic acid round out a catalogue of more than 300 items.

The plant occupies 118 mu in the Zaoyang chemical industry park in Hubei and turns out around 10,000 tonnes a year of organic chemicals for food, pharmaceutical, agrochemical, household product, electroplating and powder coating use. The company holds food additive production licences for cinnamic acid, potassium cinnamate and cinnamaldehyde, runs gas and liquid chromatography and NMR in its own laboratory, and joined the flavour and fragrance trade body IFEAT in 2024.
