Zhengzhou Bainafo Bioengineering Co., Ltd. was established in 2007 and develops and manufactures natural antimicrobial preservatives. Its core products are epsilon-polylysine and its hydrochloride, natamycin and nisin, all made by fermentation, and the company states that it was the first in China with industrial scale capability for epsilon-polylysine.

Around these it supplies a wider preservative and antioxidant catalogue that includes rosemary extract, sodium diacetate, sodium propionate, calcium propionate, sodium dehydroacetate, potassium sorbate, ascorbic acid, tea polyphenols, mixed tocopherols, TBHQ, BHA, BHT and grape seed extract, plus emulsifiers, sweeteners, natural pigments and dietary fibre.

Applications cover meat, sauces and seasonings, dairy, beverages, bakery and confectionery, rice and flour products, cosmetics and personal care, pharmaceuticals, animal feed, pet food and liquid fertiliser. The company holds around twenty patents and certificates and is certified to ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and HACCP, with halal approval.
