Manufacturing Process
Lysozyme Chloride begins with the same egg-white feedstock as the free enzyme. Liquid egg white is loaded onto a cation-exchange resin, washed, and eluted at controlled ionic strength.
The eluate is desalted, concentrated by ultrafiltration, and crystallised from a chloride buffer. The hydrochloride form is obtained by acidification of the redissolved crystals with a slight excess of food-grade hydrochloric acid, followed by recrystallisation.
The crystals are washed to a defined residual chloride content, vacuum dried to a tight moisture target, and milled. Particle size is set to support direct compression in tablet manufacture without further granulation.
Production sites in Europe, India, and Japan dominate global supply. Most output goes into pharmaceutical channels, with food and supplement use accounting for a smaller but growing share.
