Hebei Mersway Bio-Tech Co., Ltd. produces lecithin and phospholipid products at Dingxing County in Baoding, Hebei, on Meiyesi Road off the southern extension of Jixiang Street. It was founded jointly by Beijing Meiyasi Phospholipid Technology Co., Ltd. and Beijing Yuanhuamei Phospholipid Technology Co., Ltd., which had already worked together for a decade, and its new plant and production lines came fully into operation at the end of 2019.

Raw materials are soybean, sunflower seed, rapeseed and egg yolk, and the range runs to more than twenty products. Liquid lecithin is made from the concentrated phosphatide by-product of soybean or sunflower oil refining, dewatered and cleaned to a total phospholipid content of at least 60 per cent. Powdered lecithin is de-oiled and deodorised to at least 97 per cent total phospholipids, and a granular form is made from the powder. Non-GMO liquid and powder grades are produced from non-GMO soybeans. Modified soybean lecithin is offered as a liquid with acetone insolubles of at least 50 per cent and as a powder at 97 per cent. Phosphatidylcholine concentrates are made from powdered soybean and sunflower lecithin at PC 25, 35, 50, 60 and 80, and egg yolk lecithin is produced from fresh egg yolk powder at E-30, E-70 and E-90.

Annual production and sales are stated at more than ten thousand tonnes. The materials go into pharmaceutical excipients, health food functional ingredients, food additives, fine chemicals and animal health products. Quality management is run to FSSC 22000 with GMP procedures covering raw material purchase, in-process control, testing, traceability and foreign body and allergen control. The company is a national high-tech enterprise and a specialised and new enterprise.
