Jiangsu Ogo Biotech Co., Ltd.

Jiangsu OGO Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was founded in 2008 and is based at No. 17 Kangping Road in the Economic Development Zone of Liyang City, Jiangsu Province. It works in two areas: functional sugars made by bioenzymatic conversion, and bioactive compounds such as amino acids, nucleotides and vitamins made by synthetic biology routes.

The functional sugar range covers trehalose, maltose, isomaltulose, polydextrose, cyclodextrins and complex starch sugars. The company states it holds the largest trehalose capacity in the world, with a 200,000 tonne trehalose line at its Heilongjiang Xianggu site commissioned in 2025, and describes itself as the only domestic producer of maltose powder above 90 percent purity and as China's largest producer of beta-cyclodextrin. Amino acids including L-phenylalanine, gamma-aminobutyric acid, L-2-aminobutyric acid, valine and arginine are made at the Jilin Jia'ao site. Nicotinamide mononucleotide capacity is given as 300 tonnes a year after an upgrade, alongside inositol, alpha-cyclodextrin, sodium and calcium gluconate, and in-house enzyme preparations.

Production is spread across six named sites: Jiangsu OGO, Liyang Weixin, Jilin OGO, Jilin Aojia, Jilin Baiao and Heilongjiang Xianggu. The company reports more than 500 employees and over 175 patent applications, and is recognised as a National High-Tech Enterprise, a Jiangsu provincial technological innovation enterprise, a provincial enterprise technology centre and a specialised "Little Giant" enterprise.
