Shandong Jianyihong Biopharmaceutical was incorporated in August 2020 as a wholly owned subsidiary of First Life Science Co., Ltd of Hong Kong. Its plant occupies 100,000 square metres in the north district of Anqiu, part of Weifang in Shandong, at No. 3 Yanjie in the Fujiamiaozi community of Xin'an Street.

The company makes sugar alcohols and functional sugars. Installed lines cover 60,000 tonnes a year of crystalline sorbitol, 15,000 tonnes each of lactitol, maltitol and crystalline xylitol, 2,000 tonnes each of xylo-oligosaccharide and isomalt, and 100,000 tonnes of liquid polyols and pharmaceutical excipients. The catalogue also includes xylose, isomaltulose, isomerised lactose, L-arabinose and compounded prebiotics.

Certification covers ISO9001, ISO22000, identity preserved non-GMO, kosher, BRC, halal and Indonesian MUI halal, together with the health registration certificate required for import and export. End uses given are baking, beverages, confectionery, health foods, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, livestock and aquaculture feed and pet nutrition. The company notes that polyols give a sucrose-like mouthfeel at a lower calorific value without raising blood glucose sharply or contributing to dental caries, which is the basis for their use in foods for people with diabetes and in weight management products.
