Yunnan Tonghai Yang Natural Products makes natural food colours by extraction. The range covers radish red, including deodorised grades, purple sweet potato colour, red cabbage colour, beetroot red, gardenia yellow and gardenia blue, carthamus yellow from safflower and sodium copper chlorophyllin.

The company started in 1996 and works from Tonghai in Yunnan on a site of more than 20,000 square metres with five stainless steel extraction lines. It grows raw material on around 900 hectares of its own planting base, which gives it control of the crop behind the radish and gardenia colours. It has exported for more than twenty years, with customers in Europe, the United States, Japan and Korea.
