Zhe Jiang Industrial Group Co., Ltd.

Zhejiang Industrial Group, which trades as Xingye, processes seafood at Zhoushan. Its marine seasoning plant makes savoury ingredients from fish and shellfish: fish essence and seafood extracts, deep-sea fish sauce and fish soy sauce, anchovy and shrimp pastes, bonito, crab and cuttlefish juices, and dried meals from anchovy, squid and ink fish. The wider group freezes and further-processes squid, whitefish, shrimp, crab and surimi.

The company dates from 1994 and is a state-controlled joint venture between Zhejiang Shenghaida, formerly Zhoushan No.2 Oceanic Fishing, and Maruha Nichiro of Japan. Its site at Ganlan Town in Dinghai district covers 114,000 square metres and holds eight plants, twenty processing lines and two cold stores of 10,000 tonnes. It employs more than 2,000 people, holds BRC, HACCP, ISO 9001, ISO 22000 and ISO 14001 certification, and exports to the Americas and Europe.
