Orgainic Astragalus Root Extract

Orgainic Astragalus Root Extract is a certified-organic concentrate produced from the dried roots of Astragalus membranaceus (Fisch.) Bunge.

The extract is standardised on astragalosides, with astragaloside IV serving as the marker compound. Polysaccharides typically co-occur and contribute to the overall functional profile. The finished powder is light tan to brown and water-soluble.

We source bulk Orgainic Astragalus Root Extract from top China manufacturers for our partners. The manufacturer is in Hebei. A smaller requirement can ship in a combined container with other ingredients.

Please send the grade you need, the volume and your destination port, and we will come back with a solution and a price.

Common Markets Grades

Several standardisation targets define the grades of Orgainic Astragalus Root Extract.

The 0.3 percent and 0.5 percent astragaloside IV grades are HPLC-verified and used in finished-product formulations where regulatory-grade marker assay is required.

The 1.6 percent astragaloside IV grade is the highest commercially common purity, intended for premium capsule and softgel positioning.

Polysaccharide-standardised grades run at 30 percent, 50 percent, and 70 percent total polysaccharides measured colorimetrically. These grades target functional-beverage and immune-support formats.

A 10:1 native extract (concentrated to ten parts raw root to one part extract) is produced where the full root profile is preferred over a marker-driven specification.

How We Help Source Orgainic Astragalus Root Extract

  • Direct Factory Sourcing

We run the whole process: selecting the manufacturer from the top Chinese food ingredient producers, negotiating the price, verifying quality, and coordinating the logistics. You deal with us instead of with several factories at once.

  • Original Packaging and Documents from the Manufacturer

The manufacturer sends your Orgainic Astragalus Root Extract out of its own factory in the original packing, through to your destination port. The COA, COO, MSDS, TDS and any certifications reach you from the manufacturer as well.

  • Free Samples and Lead Time

We send 100 to 500 g free for your own laboratory to test and you cover only the courier, usually within 2 to 3 working days. ETD is usually within 7 to 15 days once the order is confirmed, and we check that date against the factory's own manufacturing schedule before we give it to you.

  • Combined Shipment

We can load Orgainic Astragalus Root Extract together with other ingredients such as Astaxanthin, Dehydrated Garlic and Lutein into one 20' FCL. If your quantity is small, we can also ship LCL.

Regulatory Status

Astragalus root has long-standing food and herbal use across China, Korea, and Japan, and is not classified as a novel food in the European Union.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration treats astragalus root as a dietary ingredient under DSHEA. Several preparations carry GRAS self-affirmations covering specified intake ranges.

USDA NOP and EU 2018/848 organic certifications are issued by accredited bodies when the field, processor, and packer all hold valid certificates.

Astragalus appears in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia (Huang Qi monograph), in the Korean Herbal Pharmacopoeia, and in the European Pharmacopoeia (Astragali mongholici radix).

Manufacturing Process

Roots are harvested from four- to seven-year-old plants grown on certified-organic land in Inner Mongolia, Shanxi, and Gansu provinces.

The roots are washed, sliced, and dried at controlled temperature. Quality roots show the characteristic yellow cross-section and a slightly sweet aroma.

The sliced root is extracted with hot water for polysaccharide-led grades and with food-grade ethanol-water mixtures for astragaloside-led grades. No synthetic solvents are used.

The crude extract is filtered, concentrated under vacuum, and either spray-dried directly (for native and polysaccharide grades) or passed through macroporous resin columns to enrich the astragaloside fraction before spray-drying.

Every lot is tested for astragaloside IV by HPLC, for polysaccharides by phenol-sulphuric acid method, and for the standard panel of pesticides, heavy metals, and microbiology.
