Organic Seabuckthorn Puree

Organic Seabuckthorn Puree is a certified-organic whole-berry preparation made by passing ripe Hippophae rhamnoides berries through a finisher to remove seeds and skins while retaining all soluble and insoluble pulp.

The puree is thicker than juice and carries the full berry profile: native acidity, suspended pulp fibre, micro-emulsified pulp oil, and the orange carotenoid pigment fraction.

We source bulk Organic Seabuckthorn Puree from top China manufacturers for our partners. The manufacturer is in Inner Mongolia. A smaller requirement can ship in a combined container with other ingredients.

Please send the grade you need, the volume and your destination port, and we will come back with a solution and a price.

Common Markets Grades

There are two formats of Organic Seabuckthorn Puree: a single-strength puree at 8 to 11 Brix and a concentrate at 22 to 26 Brix.

The single-strength puree retains the closest match to the fresh berry, with the highest pulp-fibre content and the most natural mouthfeel. It is the preferred grade for premium dairy and frozen-dessert work.

The concentrate is suitable for sauce, fillings, and bakery applications where water removal improves shelf life and reduces freight cost.

A seedless skin-in variant is produced for buyers who want maximum carotenoid retention and accept a slightly grittier texture.

All formats are aseptically packed in bag-in-box or drums and carry USDA NOP and EU 2018/848 organic certification.

How We Help Source Organic Seabuckthorn Puree

  • Direct Factory Sourcing

We run the whole process: selecting the manufacturer from the top Chinese food ingredient producers, negotiating the price, verifying quality, and coordinating the logistics. You deal with us instead of with several factories at once.

  • Original Packaging and Documents from the Manufacturer

The manufacturer sends your Organic Seabuckthorn Puree out of its own factory in the original packing, through to your destination port. The COA, COO, MSDS, TDS and any certifications reach you from the manufacturer as well.

  • Free Samples and Lead Time

We send 100 to 500 g free for your own laboratory to test and you cover only the courier, usually within 2 to 3 working days. ETD is usually within 7 to 15 days once the order is confirmed, and we check that date against the factory's own manufacturing schedule before we give it to you.

  • Combined Shipment

We can load Organic Seabuckthorn Puree together with other ingredients such as Astaxanthin, Dehydrated Garlic and Lutein into one 20' FCL. If your quantity is small, we can also ship LCL.

Regulatory Status

As a whole-berry food preparation with centuries of dietary history across Eurasia, sea buckthorn puree is not classified as novel in the European Union.

In the U.S., the puree is a conventional food ingredient and carries no requirement for premarket notification. Labelling follows standard fruit-puree rules.

USDA NOP and EU 2018/848 organic certifications apply when the orchard, processor, and packer all hold valid certificates. Halal, Kosher, and Non-GMO Project verifications are commonly available.

The high native vitamin C content typically supports a vitamin C source claim per serving in most regulated markets.

Manufacturing Process

Berries are harvested in late autumn and washed in cold water to remove debris and leaf fragments.

The washed berries are gently warmed to soften the tissue, then passed through a paddle finisher fitted with a 0.5 to 0.8 mm screen. The screen separates the puree from seeds and coarse skin.

The puree is deaerated, flash-pasteurised, and either packed at single strength or sent forward to a falling-film evaporator for concentration under vacuum at low temperature.

Aseptic filling into laminated bag-in-box or stainless drums delivers an ambient shelf life of 18 to 24 months. Frozen IQF puree is also available where the buyer prefers to manage thermal history themselves.
