Shandong Bailong Chuangyuan Bio-tech was founded on 30 December 2005 and makes functional carbohydrates in Dezhou, Shandong, an area promoted as China's functional sugar city. The site covers about 140,000 square metres. Registered capital is CNY 420 million, total assets exceed CNY 2 billion, headcount is around 950 and combined annual capacity is 300,000 tonnes. The company listed on the main board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange on 21 April 2021 under code 605016.

Its range is one of the widest in the sector: resistant dextrin, polydextrose, fructo-, isomalto-, galacto- and xylo-oligosaccharides, allulose, isomaltulose, crystalline fructose, stachyose, maltitol, lactitol, isomalt and organic maltodextrin, in both powder and syrup. Bailong Chuangyuan says it was the first Chinese producer of resistant dextrin as a soluble dietary fibre and the first in China to obtain organic certification for fructo-oligosaccharides.

Workshops are built to GMP requirements and run automated from raw material intake through to filling. Certification includes BRCGS, FDA registration, ISO9001, ISO22000, ISO14001, ISO10012, OHSAS18001, identity preserved non-GMO, halal, SEDEX, kosher and organic. The company holds a provincial technical centre and a technology incubation platform, and has subsidiaries in Qingdao, Shanghai, Jinan, Nanjing and Thailand.
