Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone Hongyufeng Bio-Technology Co., Ltd.

Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone Hongyufeng Bio-Technology Co., Ltd. was set up in the Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone as a wholly owned investment of Hong Yu Feng Enterprise Co., Ltd. of Hong Kong. It produces and distributes licorice derivatives, and its own manufacturing covers licorice extract blocks, licorice cream, licorice extract granules and licorice extract powder. Monoammonium glycyrrhizinate, tripotassium glycyrrhizinate and glycyrrhizin sweetener grades are handled on the distribution side.

Raw licorice and licorice extract are bought from several producing regions, including Xinjiang and Inner Mongolia in China and supplies from Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Kazakhstan, Afghanistan, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates, Azerbaijan and Turkey. Annual output of licorice extract powder and granules is given as 2,500 tonnes, aimed at the tobacco, confectionery and natural food additive markets.

The plant passed its annual audits for FSSC 22000, ISO 9001 and ISO 22000 in September 2020. In 2019 the company won a share of the first public tender for China's licorice and licorice product export quota, administered by the Ministry of Commerce, and it exhibited licorice extracts at CPhI Worldwide in Frankfurt the same year. The works are at Building A, Lanster factory, west side of Jingang Road, Zhangjiagang Free Trade Zone, Suzhou.
