Chlorella Growth Factor
Chlorella Growth Factor, abbreviated CGF, is a hot-water extract of Chlorella biomass concentrated for its nucleotide and peptide content. It is the premium-positioned fraction within the Chlorella supply chain.
The extract is built around a nucleotide-peptide complex first identified in the 1950s, which accelerates the division rate of Chlorella cells themselves and is the source of the trade name.
Commercial CGF typically carries 14 to 25 percent nucleic acid derivatives (free nucleotides, nucleosides, and short oligonucleotides) together with low-molecular-weight peptides, free amino acids, polysaccharides, and B-group vitamins.
We source bulk Chlorella Growth Factor from top China manufacturers for our partners. The manufacturer is in Fujian. A smaller requirement can ship in a combined container with other ingredients.
Please send the grade you need, the volume and your destination port, and we will come back with a solution and a price.

Common Markets Grades
Three formats carry CGF: a liquid concentrate, a spray-dried powder, and co-blending into Chlorella tablets.
The standard liquid grade is a dark green to brown viscous syrup at roughly 30 to 50 percent solids. It is the format used by traditional Japanese and Taiwanese supplement houses.
The spray-dried powder grade is hygroscopic, fine-meshed, and standardised to a defined nucleic-acid percentage, commonly 15 percent or 18 percent. It is the convenient format for capsule and tablet blends.
CGF-fortified Chlorella tablets typically combine 70 to 80 percent broken-cell-wall whole Chlorella powder with 20 to 30 percent CGF concentrate, pressed into 200 to 250 mg discs.
High-end grades disclose the species of origin (usually Chlorella pyrenoidosa), the extraction temperature window, and the residual heavy-metal profile.
Applications
- Premium Chlorella tablets sold under wellness and longevity positioning
- Standalone CGF capsules and softgels
- Liquid CGF tonics in small-format glass bottles, common in Japan and Taiwan

How We Help Source Chlorella Growth Factor
Direct Factory Sourcing
We run the whole process: selecting the manufacturer from the top Chinese food ingredient producers, negotiating the price, verifying quality, and coordinating the logistics. You deal with us instead of with several factories at once.
Original Packaging and Documents from the Manufacturer
The manufacturer sends your Chlorella Growth Factor out of its own factory in the original packing, through to your destination port. The COA, COO, MSDS, TDS and any certifications reach you from the manufacturer as well.
Free Samples and Lead Time
We send 100 to 500 g free for your own laboratory to test and you cover only the courier, usually within 2 to 3 working days. ETD is usually within 7 to 15 days once the order is confirmed, and we check that date against the factory's own manufacturing schedule before we give it to you.
Combined Shipment
We can load Chlorella Growth Factor together with other ingredients such as Astaxanthin, Dehydrated Garlic and Lutein into one 20' FCL. If your quantity is small, we can also ship LCL.
Regulatory Status
CGF is a Chlorella-derived extract and falls under the same regulatory framework as the parent species in each market.
In Japan, Taiwan, and Korea it has a long history of use as a food and dietary supplement ingredient. In the United States it is marketed as a dietary ingredient under DSHEA.
In the European Union, extracts from species established as non-novel (such as pre-1997 Chlorella vulgaris and Chlorella pyrenoidosa) inherit that status when the extraction process does not produce a structurally novel material.
Specifications focus on residual solvent (water only), heavy metals, microbiological purity, and a minimum nucleic-acid content.
Manufacturing Process
Production starts with the same broken-cell-wall Chlorella biomass used for the whole-powder grade. The slurry is then extracted in hot water, typically between 95 and 121 °C, sometimes under mild pressure.
The hot-water extract is separated from the spent cell residue by centrifugation and filtered through progressively finer membranes to remove particulates and high-molecular-weight polysaccharides.
The clarified liquor is concentrated under vacuum to a syrup of 30 to 50 percent solids. This liquid is produced directly or spray-dried with a small carrier load such as maltodextrin to give a free-flowing powder.
Quality control tracks the ratio of nucleic-acid-derived UV absorbance at 260 nm to the protein signal at 280 nm. A high 260/280 ratio is the signature of a true CGF concentrate rather than a generic protein extract.
