Collagen Casing, Soy Protein
Collagen Casing with Soy Protein is a co-formulated sausage casing in which a soy protein component is incorporated into the collagen matrix to modify mechanical, sensory, and labelling properties.
The casing retains the tubular extrusion form of conventional collagen casing but blends bovine corium collagen with isolated or concentrated soy protein. The result is a hybrid film whose bite, tenderness, and water-handling behaviour differ from pure collagen casing in ways that suit specific finished-product styles.
We source bulk Collagen Casing, Soy Protein from top China manufacturers for our partners. The manufacturer is in Shandong. A smaller requirement can ship in a combined container with other ingredients.
Please send the grade you need, the volume and your destination port, and we will come back with a solution and a price.

Common Markets Grades
Grades are defined by caliber, by collagen-to-soy ratio, and by intended end use. Calibers run from 17 mm for snack sticks up to 32 mm and above for dinner sausages and franks.
Higher soy fractions deliver a more tender bite and faster cook-down, suited to breakfast links and fresh sausages aimed at consumers who find pure collagen casing too snappy.
Lower soy fractions preserve more of the collagen snap and are used where a traditional sausage mouthfeel is preferred.
Shirred strands serve high-speed stuffing, and flat rolls serve manual or small-batch operations. Colour and smoke permeability are adjustable through the same plasticizer and process chemistry used for pure collagen grades.
Applications
- Fresh breakfast links and dinner sausages where a softer, more tender bite is desired
- Cooked sausages and franks for retail packs aimed at family consumption
- Snack sticks and meat snacks where bite and chew profile can be tuned
- Smoked sausages with controlled smoke uptake through the hybrid film
- Halal and Kosher sausage lines that combine collagen with plant protein for sensory and labelling reasons
- Lower-cost casing options for high-volume processed-meat producers
- Plant-forward sausage analogs that combine animal and plant proteins
- Food-service portion products that prioritize uniform cook behaviour
- Export-oriented sausage products for markets that prefer milder casing texture
- Specialty regional sausage styles where a softer skin is part of the tradition

How We Help Source Collagen Casing, Soy Protein
Direct Factory Sourcing
We run the whole process: selecting the manufacturer from the top Chinese food ingredient producers, negotiating the price, verifying quality, and coordinating the logistics. You deal with us instead of with several factories at once.
Original Packaging and Documents from the Manufacturer
The manufacturer sends your Collagen Casing, Soy Protein out of its own factory in the original packing, through to your destination port. The COA, COO, MSDS, TDS and any certifications reach you from the manufacturer as well.
Free Samples and Lead Time
We send 100 to 500 g free for your own laboratory to test and you cover only the courier, usually within 2 to 3 working days. ETD is usually within 7 to 15 days once the order is confirmed, and we check that date against the factory's own manufacturing schedule before we give it to you.
Combined Shipment
We can load Collagen Casing, Soy Protein together with other ingredients such as Collagen Peptide, Soy Protein Isolate and Fish Collagen Peptide into one 20' FCL. If your quantity is small, we can also ship LCL.
Regulatory Status
The casing is regulated as a composite food-contact and food-component material. In the United States it falls under FDA food-additive practice and USDA-FSIS oversight for meat processing.
In the European Union it is treated as a product of animal origin because of the bovine collagen content, with TSE and traceability rules applying to the collagen fraction. The soy protein component is subject to allergen labelling.
Soy allergen declaration is required on the finished sausage label in essentially every regulated market, regardless of the relative protein contribution.
Halal and Kosher certifications exist where the collagen source meets the relevant slaughter and processing requirements and where the soy protein is sourced from certified suppliers.
Manufacturing Process
The base collagen dough is prepared from cleaned and swollen bovine corium as in conventional collagen casing manufacture. Plasticizers such as glycerol are added at controlled levels.
Soy protein isolate or concentrate is then incorporated into the dough at the defined ratio. The two protein streams must be hydrated and mixed under conditions that produce a uniform extrudable mass without pre-coagulating the collagen.
The blended dough is extruded through annular dies into thin-walled tubes and passed through coagulation and conditioning baths that set the protein network and adjust pH.
The tubes are dried under controlled tension, cut to length, and shirred onto sticks for automated stuffing. Process parameters are tuned so the soy component is distributed evenly through the wall rather than segregated at the surface.
Finished casings are tested for caliber uniformity, burst pressure, smoke permeability, and shrink behaviour on standardised cook cycles.
