Henan Feitian Biotechnology Co., Ltd. dates from 2002, when the state-owned Qi County starch sugar plant, in production since 1995, was restructured as a private business under the name Qixian Yongchang Starch Sugar Factory. Central government capital came in during 2006, the company was converted to a joint-stock enterprise in 2012, and it took its present name in 2022. Registered capital is RMB 200 million. The head office is in the Hebi high-tech industrial cluster in Henan and the plant is on Yongda Road, Tiexi, Qi County.

Feitian mills maize and wheat. Capacity across three industrial parks is stated at 1.5 million tonnes of maize and 300,000 tonnes of wheat a year, yielding more than 70 products in starch sugars, functional sugars, amino acids and plant proteins. Named lines include maize starch, wheat starch, edible glucose, glucose syrup, maltose syrup, maltodextrin, high fructose corn syrup, crystalline fructose, D-tagatose, allulose and wheat gluten. Landmark projects were 100,000 tonnes of crystalline glucose in 2007, 100,000 tonnes each of maltose and maltodextrin in 2010, 100,000 tonnes of high fructose syrup with 30,000 tonnes of functional sugar in 2014, and 30,000 tonnes of pharmaceutical-grade crystalline fructose in 2023.

A second base is being built at Changji in Xinjiang with a first phase of 200,000 tonnes, and further biological sugar projects are planned in Gansu, Guangxi and Uzbekistan. In December 2023 Henan Investment Group took a 51 percent controlling stake. Sales reach 42 countries, and the group runs a domestic marketing centre in Zhengzhou and an international one in Qingdao. Its starch subsidiary publishes a halal policy.
