Hunan Health-Guard Bio-Tech Inc. extracts natural aroma materials, antioxidants, functional oils and plant actives at a plant in the Yongzhou national agricultural science and technology park in Hunan.

Processing is built on supercritical carbon dioxide extraction, molecular distillation, membrane separation, ultrasonic counter-current extraction, enzymolysis, aseptic packing and nano-milling, and the company states that the process generates no pollutants or waste streams. Ginger is the largest raw material: the range covers ginger oil and a water-soluble version, aroma ginger oil, ginger oleoresin, liquid gingerols, ginger powder extract at 5 to 30 percent and a whole ginger active extract. Other spice oils include cinnamon bark oil from Cinnamomum cassia, magnolia bark oil, angelica dahurica oil, dong quai oil and carrot seed oil. Functional and medicinal oils cover seabuckthorn fruit and seed oil, pomegranate seed oil and camellia seed oil, and the extract list runs to honokiol and magnolia extracts from 10 to 98 percent and bakuchiol at 99 percent produced by carbon dioxide extraction.

Material is sold into flavours and fragrances, food additives, cosmetics and personal care, health foods, supplements and medical products. The company holds QS, ISO 9001, kosher, halal and organic certification, and offers formulation design, new product development, pilot trials, technical training, clinical work and contract manufacturing. It exhibits regularly at in-cosmetics events in Europe, Asia, North America and Korea, and at CPHI China and Food Ingredients China.
