Nanyang Tairui Biotechnology builds its range around the gardenia crop. Colours include gardenia yellow at colour values of 300 to 800, gardenia blue, gardenia green and gardenia red, together with blended natural colour systems. Extracts include gardenoside at 95 percent and crocin and crocetin in food, pharmaceutical and reference-standard grades. The company also presses gardenia seed oil, which it sells as a cooking oil under the Jinzhi brand, and makes monascus red and safflower yellow.

Tairui was founded in 2001 and manufactures at the Zangang industrial park in Tanghe County, Nanyang, Henan, the district its raw material comes from. It contracts growers locally, works with the Chinese Academy of Sciences on research, and drew up DB411325/T013-2004, the local production standard for Tanghe gardenia. Extraction uses supercritical equipment, with gas and liquid chromatography for testing. The company holds ISO 9001, ISO 22000, Kosher and Halal certification.
