Pumpkin Protein
Pumpkin Protein is a plant protein concentrate or isolate produced from defatted seeds of Cucurbita pepo, typically standardised between 60 and 75 percent crude protein on a dry basis.
The powder is light green to olive in colour, carries a mildly nutty flavour, and dissolves into beverages and bakery systems with moderate suspension stability.
It is valued in vegan and clean-label nutrition for a near-complete amino acid profile, with arginine, glutamic acid, and branched-chain residues present at unusually high levels.
We source bulk Pumpkin Protein from top China manufacturers for our partners. The manufacturer is in Liaoning. A smaller requirement can ship in a combined container with other ingredients.

Common Markets Grades
Pumpkin Protein is graded primarily by protein content and processing route.
The 60 to 65 percent concentrate is the most cost-efficient grade and is used in bakery, snack, and pet-nutrition systems where flavour and colour are not critical.
The 70 to 75 percent grade is the standard choice for sports-nutrition powders, meal-replacement shakes, and ready-to-mix beverages. It offers cleaner taste and better dispersion than the lower grade.
Organic-certified material, raw cold-pressed variants, and sprouted pumpkin protein are produced for natural and whole-food positioning and sell at a higher price.
Mesh sizing of 80, 100, and 200 is produced for different formulation needs, with finer mesh preferred for ready-to-drink beverages.

How We Help Source Pumpkin Protein
Direct Factory Sourcing
We run the whole process: selecting the manufacturer from the top Chinese food ingredient producers, negotiating the price, verifying quality, and coordinating the logistics. You deal with us instead of with several factories at once.
Original Packaging and Documents from the Manufacturer
The manufacturer sends your Pumpkin Protein out of its own factory in the original packing, through to your destination port. The COA, COO, MSDS, TDS and any certifications reach you from the manufacturer as well.
Free Samples and Lead Time
We send 100 to 500 g free for your own laboratory to test and you cover only the courier, usually within 2 to 3 working days. ETD is usually within 7 to 15 days once the order is confirmed, and we check that date against the factory's own manufacturing schedule before we give it to you.
Combined Shipment
We can load Pumpkin Protein together with other ingredients such as Collagen Peptide, Soy Protein Isolate and Fish Collagen Peptide into one 20' FCL. If your quantity is small, we can also ship LCL.
Regulatory Status
Pumpkin Protein is regulated as a conventional food ingredient in major markets.
In the United States it is classified as a food and is not subject to additive listings. Suppliers self-affirm GRAS status for the protein concentrate and isolate under typical food-use conditions.
In the European Union the ingredient is treated as a traditional food and is not a Novel Food. Organic certification under EU 2018/848 is widely available.
Kosher and Halal certifications are routinely available. The ingredient is naturally gluten-free, vegan, and non-GMO when sourced from conventional seed stock.
Allergen labelling for pumpkin protein is not required in the United States, the European Union, or most Asian markets, although manufacturers should verify cross-contact controls when shared lines process tree nuts or sesame.
Manufacturing Process
Production starts with pumpkin seeds, most of the global supply originating in China, Austria, and parts of Eastern Europe.
The seeds are mechanically dehulled in many cases, then cold-pressed or expeller-pressed to remove most of the seed oil. The residual press cake carries 35 to 50 percent protein.
The press cake is milled, sifted, and then subjected to a water or mild alkaline extraction to dissolve protein, followed by isoelectric precipitation near pH 4.5. The protein curd is washed, neutralised, and spray-dried.
A simpler route mills the defatted cake directly into a protein concentrate without wet processing. This yields the 55 to 65 percent grade with retention of native fibre and minerals.
Final powders are screened, blended for protein uniformity, and packed in food-grade bags lined with polyethylene under nitrogen flush for the higher grades.
