Beijing Gingko Group, which trades as BGG, was established in 1995 and both sources and manufactures natural ingredients for the dietary supplement, cosmetic, food and beverage, pharmaceutical and animal nutrition industries. Its branded specialities include AstaZine astaxanthin, ApplePhenon apple polyphenols and CyaniMax cyanidin-3-glucoside, alongside licorice extracts and stevia, drawn from fruit, marine and herbal raw materials.

The company's extraction facility is in the Changping district of Beijing, where imported and domestic raw materials are processed and where it runs its own laboratory. Sourcing is organised around wild-crafted, organic and non-GMO feedstocks, and finished lots are tested for active content and safety before release.

BGG's research position rests on long-standing institutional links. It has worked with the Institute of Medicinal Plant Development since its founding; IMPLAD sits in Beijing under the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College and has studied traditional Chinese medicinal plants since 1983. The company also cites its association with Tongrentang, the Beijing traditional medicine house established in 1669. Much of its product development involves identifying new applications for herbs from China and elsewhere and substantiating them with clinical work.
