Organic DHA Algal Oil
Organic DHA Algal Oil is a docosahexaenoic acid oil produced from heterotrophic marine microalgae cultivated on certified organic carbon feedstock, with the full production chain audited under USDA NOP, EU 2018/848, or equivalent organic standards.
The product targets infant nutrition, premium adult supplements, and food fortification formats where buyers require both vegan origin and full organic chain-of-custody certification.
We source bulk Organic DHA Algal Oil from top China manufacturers for our partners. The manufacturer is in Hubei. A smaller requirement can ship in a combined container with other ingredients.
Please send the grade you need, the volume and your destination port, and we will come back with a solution and a price.

Common Markets Grades
Organic DHA Algal Oil covers a narrower band of grades than its conventional equivalent, because organic feedstock economics favour higher-value formats.
Infant nutrition grade from Crypthecodinium cohnii typically delivers 35 to 45 percent DHA with minimal EPA, certified under both USDA NOP and EU organic schemes.
Premium adult supplement grade from Schizochytrium sp. or Aurantiochytrium delivers 40 to 50 percent DHA in re-esterified triglyceride form.
Microencapsulated organic powder at 10 to 17 percent DHA, spray-dried with organic-certified starch or gum acacia carriers, is produced for organic dry blends, infant cereals, and bakery applications.
All grades carry parallel halal, kosher, vegan, and non-GMO certifications, and most are produced without hexane extraction to satisfy mechanical-extraction organic requirements.

How We Help Source Organic DHA Algal Oil
Direct Factory Sourcing
We run the whole process: selecting the manufacturer from the top Chinese food ingredient producers, negotiating the price, verifying quality, and coordinating the logistics. You deal with us instead of with several factories at once.
Original Packaging and Documents from the Manufacturer
The manufacturer sends your Organic DHA Algal Oil out of its own factory in the original packing, through to your destination port. The COA, COO, MSDS, TDS and any certifications reach you from the manufacturer as well.
Free Samples and Lead Time
We send 100 to 500 g free for your own laboratory to test and you cover only the courier, usually within 2 to 3 working days. ETD is usually within 7 to 15 days once the order is confirmed, and we check that date against the factory's own manufacturing schedule before we give it to you.
Combined Shipment
We can load Organic DHA Algal Oil together with other ingredients such as DHA, DHA Algal Oil and Mct into one 20' FCL. If your quantity is small, we can also ship LCL.
Regulatory Status
Organic certification is granted by accredited bodies operating under the United States Department of Agriculture National Organic Program (7 CFR 205) and the European Union organic regulation (EU) 2018/848, with mutual recognition under bilateral equivalence arrangements.
The underlying algal oil holds authorised novel food status in the European Union for Schizochytrium sp. and Crypthecodinium cohnii, and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has accepted GRAS notifications for both organisms.
EFSA authorised health claims for DHA covering brain function, vision, and infant development apply to organic-certified material on the same terms as conventional.
Codex Alimentarius infant formula standards recognise algal DHA as a permitted optional ingredient, and organic certification operates as an additional voluntary layer.
Most producers also maintain halal, kosher, vegan, non-GMO Project, and Friend of the Sea certifications in parallel.
Manufacturing Process
Production follows the heterotrophic fermentation template used for conventional algal DHA oil, with every input documented under the chosen organic standard.
The carbon feedstock is certified organic glucose, sucrose, or invert syrup derived from organic corn, sugar beet, or sugar cane, replacing the conventional glucose syrup that dominates non-organic production.
Nitrogen and mineral salts are sourced as organic-compliant grades, and all processing aids including antifoams and acid or base for pH control must appear on the relevant organic national list.
Fermentation proceeds for 4 to 6 days in stirred-tank bioreactors. Biomass is harvested by centrifugation, washed with potable water, and dried, with oil typically recovered by mechanical expeller pressing rather than hexane extraction to maintain organic status in markets where solvent extraction is restricted.
Crude oil moves through physical degumming, alkali or enzymatic neutralisation, bleaching with food-grade clay, winterization, and steam deodorisation, finished with mixed tocopherols and ascorbyl palmitate from organic-compliant sources.
